Trees & Power Lines; Safety regulations you should follow

Posted on 11/08/13 in Power Line Trimming, No Comments

When trees grow near or into the power lines, they can easily cause electric interruptions not just to you but also to your whole neighbourhood.  This can also pose danger to properties and to the people in the area. For this reason, there are certain trees & power lines regulations that you need to follow when planting trees.

In residential areas, trees should be planted at least two metres away from the power poles while clearance should be at least 1.5 metres around bare, lower voltage overhead wires. The higher the voltage, the higher the clearance. Under Australian Standards, minimum safety clearance plus allowance for growth must be met. Should the branches of the trees grow near power lines, trimming must be done to ensure safety.

If you find yourself in need of trimming services to ensure that your trees do not cause power interruption in your neighbourhood, the first thing that you need to do is to find a reliable power line clearing company who have the needed skills and expertise to do the job safely and properly.
